Supporting Francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusion in K-12 Education

Led a research project amplifying Francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ voices, creating evidence-based resources that help elementary and secondary educators build more inclusive classrooms.

01

Challenge

Challenge

Francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals often face unique barriers in educational environments, shaped by language, culture, and systemic inequities. At the same time, many educators lack resources to create inclusive classrooms that reflect these experiences.

02

Approach

Approach

To help close this gap, I led a research project focused on amplifying the voices and experiences of Francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, with the goal of creating practical resources for educators in francophone contexts. The project involved:

  • Conducting qualitative research with community members to capture the diverse voices and lived experiences of the community.

  • Analyzing findings to identify key barriers and opportunities.

  • Designing resources to help educators foster more inclusive francophone classrooms.

  • Consulting community members for feedback on the resources.

03

Outcome

Outcome

The project has resulted in evidence-based resources that are now being shared with francophone educators. These resources:

  • Center the lived experiences of Francophone 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

  • Provide actionable strategies for creating inclusive learning environments.

  • Contribute to broader equity and inclusion efforts in education.
