Creating a Digital Toolkit for Self-Reflection in DEDI Work

Led the creation of a five-module interactive toolkit that equips staff, faculty, and students with self-reflection skills to strengthen equity and inclusion campus-wide.

01

Challenge

Challenge

How do you help an entire campus community—staff, faculty, and students—develop the self-reflective skills necessary for meaningful Decolonizing, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (DEDI) work? The goal was to create a resource that was both practical and accessible, while also reflecting the diverse perspectives and lived experiences within the community.

02

Approach

Approach

I guided the project from concept to launch, working with a diverse team to develop a five-module interactive digital toolkit. To ensure it truly met the needs of its users, community engagement was embedded at every stage:

  • Hosting consultations with staff, faculty, and students.

  • Creating iterative feedback loops during content development and design.

  • Ensuring that diverse voices and perspectives were represented throughout.

This collaborative process ensured that the toolkit was not only educational but also representative of the community it was designed to serve.

03

Outcome

Outcome

The final toolkit is a dynamic, interactive resource that equips users with practical strategies for building self-reflective skills in DEDI work. The toolkit:

  • Meets learners where they are, offering a flexible approach to learning.

  • Supports individual growth through guided reflection activities.

  • Strengthens a culture of inclusivity and accountability across the institution.

  • Stands as a sustainable, adaptable resource for ongoing learning.
